One day a colleague and reader of my poetry said to me, “You know, Gloria, writing poetry is good; however, you will become famous only after you are dead. And it is your grandchildren who will reap the benefits.” Her remarks were a response to my thoughts that writing poetry as a full-time job will have financial implications for my life. We concluded that I should continue writing leisurely so that my grandchildren can benefit. Since then I have been doing just that and having fun while at it.
