GloPoWriMo Day 22: Gratitude to Earth (A Speech)

Today’s prompt challenges to write a poem in honor of Earth Day. I chose to write the poem in a speech style after having previously experimented with another Earth poem, which you can read it here. Happy Earth Day!

Esteemed Mother Earth.

Today I will honour your uniqueness in humans’ life.

You are the crawling, flying, swimming and walking existence.
You are the giving of life in the mountains, skies, oceans and lands.
You are the laughing soul in the bright sun and dimmed moon.
You are the playing mate found in the field of million stars.

You are the beautifying kit to spaces with the yearly seasons.
You are the painting brush of different hues in sought solitude.
You are the standing will found in nature when the soul crumbles.
You are the trusting lessons sanctified in butterflies, birds and ants.

You are the comforting home of the present and past lives.
You are the telling stories fabled with legendary living and dead.
You are the storing trinket of treasures for the next generation.
You are the changing backstage of yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Dwelling in your spirited greatness today
I pledge to honour you with living life of gratified actions.
