World Children’s Poetry Day (WoChiPoDa) was founded in 2014, when author and poet Gloria D. Gonsalves decided to act on an idea she had while walking through the Fairy Tale Forest of Altenberg, Germany. First, she considered it a poem prompt; however, the mysterious, tall, green trees hung with moss won’t settle for a prompt. After two hours of walking, she was haunted by WoChiPoDa.
World Children’s Poetry Day (WoChiPoDa) is taking place this year on Saturday 3rd October. The theme for 2015 is “Writing a poem is fun”. More like “A giggle a day is important as vitamins or vegetables”.
