DIRISHANI
Aliyezoea shombo hafungui dirisha
kwake mnuko shobo ndiyo maisha.
Roho yako sio mtumwa wa uchafu
ifungulie dirisha lake ya nuru takatifu.
Anayekubeza kwa kauli zake uvundo
mwambie dirisha lako lina kali nondo.
Wasifu wako bado unawaka chetezoni
nukisha waliomo ndani na pembezoni.
Kuwa imara na dirisha la roho yako
waliyozoea shombo wasijikite kwako.
ON THE WINDOW (Literal translation)
The one accustomed to stench
opens not the window
for unpleasant scent is their life.
Your soul is not a slave to dirt;
open the window for glorious light.
Whoever disparages you with stink
tell them your window is strongly barred.
Your legacy is still in the censer
fragrance those inside and outcasted.
Stand strong to guard your soul window
and anchor not those adapted to stench.

Derjenige, der an Gestank gewöhnt ist
öffnet nicht das Fenster
denn unangenehmer Geruch ist ihr Leben.
Deine Seele ist nicht Sklave des Schmutzes
öffne das Fenster für herrliches Licht.
Wer dich mit Gestank verunglimpft
sage ihnen, dass dein Fenster fest verriegelt ist.
Ihr Vermächtnis ist noch im Räuchergefäß
duften die, die drinnen sind und verstoßen.
Sei stark, um dein Seelenfenster zu bewachen
und verankere nicht jene, die dem Gestank angepasst sind.
